Homelessness is a bit like an iceberg: for every person that you see under an overpass or on the sidewalk, there are countless others who have made themselves hidden in wooded areas, vacant buildings, and other “hard to find” places. Metro Relief has street outreach teams that go into these hidden places to build essential relationships and offer a myriad of solutions.

They've partnered with local municipalities to help  find these hidden places alongside local law enforcement. This enables them to find more people and to easily replace critical documents like ID's that are often a barrier to receiving social services. Street outreach isn't an easy task, but it ensures that they reach people who might never seek assistance on their own. They believe that every person matters, which is why they go in search of those who need help.

The Manchesters have served at Tenwek Hospital since 2005.  Steve is a Family Physician and has worked in Pediatrics, ER, and Outpatient departments over the years, although he is most passionate about demonstrating Christ’s love through hospice and palliative care.  Theresa is involved in educating the missionary children who live at the hospital, and also serves orphans in the Tenwek area.  In 2023 they moved out to a small village where they spend most of their time, partnering in ministry with the Africa Gospel Church.  The Manchesters have three adult sons who live and work in the states.
