Why?

There are so many people who want to know who God is and what He is all about.  Many of those people have sought God out only to find that many of the things done in Jesus' name really don't have anything to do with Jesus at all.  Others have become frustrated because they've been led to believe that knowing God is about following a bunch of rules.  Still others just don't even know where to start.

We know how difficult that place in life is: to want to know God but feeling like it's impossible to connect with Him.  For that very reason, First Wesleyan Church exists to create relevant and authentic relationships with God and people.  Simply put, we exist to love God and love people.  So we are here to connect people to God not by doing a bunch of religious activities or making people jump through hoops, but by helping people enter into a life-giving relationship with God.

First Wesleyan has been active in Chillicothe and Ross County for over 50 years and there are three words that represent who we are.  Meet. Live. Go.  We Meet to worship and experience God together.  We laugh, we celebrate, and we invite questions and doubts.  We Live in relationships with other people to grow our faith.  We spend time learning together, eating together, and sharing life together.  And we Go outside the walls of our church to make a difference in the lives of people in our community.  We seek to serve people right where they are and where they need it the most.  We hope and pray that you will find First Wesleyan to be a place where you can experience the kind of relationship with God that you have been looking for but never thought possible.
